#149 – BLOOD HUNGER!
NATURAL. BORN. KILLER. Who knew squirrels had so much blood in them? Panel #9 – Kith literally leaves a trail of blood. The Nyarly symbol again appears – what could be it's significance? MORE NOTES IN THE TRANSCRIPT.
Soon she begins to feel THE HUNGER
Kith: It's also kind of a thirst, like my throat is really dry - I just need to drink . . . something
She realizes what she needs
Kith: ElvanPyre needs BLOOD BADLY!
Without blood an ElvanPyre will turn into a crazed beast!
Crazed ElvanPyre: BL U U U D!
She goes into "HUNT" mode.
Kith: I want . . . LIFE!
ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED BLOOD HUNTER! Taste the LIFE!
The Elf child eagerly sucks out the blood
She wants every last drop
SGX: SQUEEEEZE!
Now she knows what she needs to survive
Kith: MOAR
She improves her skills
Kith: You can't have "skills" without "kills:"!
Why do you equate killing with improvement?
Kith: Learning should be fun!
THE MORE YOU KNOW!
CRUCIAL NOTES ON THIS COMIC:
1) Extra effort went into making this comic, hopefully it will pay off in future comics being better
2) Panel 3 was an effort to create a “disturbing” image
3) Panel 4 – the “LIFE!” was moved outside the text balloon because of how often I listened to “Life” by E-type while drawing it - That song also contains the lines “I leave behind just burning bridges” (Kiths future) and “you tell me there's gonna be a showdown somewhere” (Ralfs future)
4) Panel 5 shows the difficulties I have with creating a sense of motion in fight scenes. Hopefully this will get better by the time I need to draw the “Showdown” fights. In case you can't tell Kith was chasing the squirrel thru the tree tops and overtook it, but it changed direction and she had to reach behind her to snag it with her claws.
5) The Nyarly symbol again appears – what could be it's significance? Previously seen at the Sky City Crisis (#74) beside RAY THEOPLANT (I could swear I've seen that NAME before, or is my memory just ALL MIXED UP?)
6) Panel #9 Kith literally leaves a trail of blood as a reference to what her future will become
7) Panel #10 – You can stop rooting for the Villain now. Or maybe you should start – your choice.
